Research

In my research I have examined the psychological aspect of decision making in general and specifically in the context of national elections. Also, I conducted interviews and a survey in order to understand the voter's needs and pain points.

Psychological research

When researching about the psychological aspect of choice, I focused on 2 main issues:

How do I help the user make a choice that he feels comfortable with.
How Voting encouragement campaigns are dealing with the issue of making people want to vote and understand the impact it has on them.

People are frustrated by the fact that they don't understand the political system.

It's important for people to understand the political and personal history of a candidate/party.

Market research

In my research I looked at apps for elections but there were only a few. Also, i researched apps that compare products or services. In addition, i studied official governmental interfaces, data analysis interfaces and dashboards.

Insights

Stay Neutral

Don't ask for voter's political views, don't tell the voter what to choose, but give him tools to make his own decision.

Minimize Choice

Make the voter focus on few matters that are most important to him in order to make the decision process more efficient.

Create analytical tools

Comparison and a Political Map will help the voter to organize the information and understand the contexts of the political system and the impact their choice will have.

Comprehensive Data-Base

Include all the relevant information the users searched about the parties and candidates.

Categorize information to subjects of interest

focus on individuality and personal benefit of the voter through the subjects that are important to him and the benefit they might gain from voting to a certain party.
